The Snuggle Bunting is a Snuggle for orphan babies. It wraps them into a cozy little shelter to keep them warm and isolated from the noise and disruptions around them. The unique design allows the bunting to maintain an easy access without feeling confined.

These work up quickly and any beginner knitter should find them easy enough to make.

Pattern Note
Work two strands together throughout. Knit stitches tightly. This will give the stiffness needed to form a shelter instead of lying flat.

I used one fuzzy type yarn to give a nest feel to the finished Snuggle.
Instructions

Work pattern using both yarns together on a 16-inch circular needle.

  • Cast on 50 stitches. DO NOT JOIN. Work in garter stitch (knit every row) for 6 rows.
  • At the end of the 6th row, DO NOT TURN.
  • Knit into the next stitch over the crevice (joining into a round). Place a marker. Take care to knit the first join stitch tightly. This will create a clean join.
  • Continue knitting (stockinette stitch) until piece measures 5.75 inches from beginning.
  • At the end of the last round, TURN and continue knitting to the end of the row. Knit 5 more rows.
  • Cast off on next row.
  • Break yarn off long and weave in ends.
