Clothesline Snuggle

This creates a very sturdy Snuggle for a dog kennel.

Materials
Three 80-yard skeins cotton rug yarn in each of the following colors: red, orange, yellow, light green, dark green, blue, and purple; 50 yards of clothesline; Size I crochet hook.
Size
36 x 56 inches
To change the size, change the length of the beginning chain and the number of rows worked.
Instructions

With red yarn, ch 101.

Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook, and in each ch across (100 sc), ch 2, turn.

Row 2: Hold end of clothesline next to rug, sc around clothesline in each sc across (see Diagram 1). Ch 1, turn.

Row 3: Sc in each st across (100 sc). Change to orange (crocheting over yarn ends) and repeat these three rows in the following order: yellow, light green, dark green, blue, and purple. Repeat these 21 rows six times more, or for length desired; fasten off.

 

Splicing clothesline (if necessary): Unravel 1-1/2 inches on end of each piece. Cut out half the ply of each piece, and overlap. Secure with dot of glue to each end and wrap splice with matching color of sewing thread (see Diagram 2).
