Very easy pattern but do be careful about your gauge. If you knit too loose, try using two strands of yarn instead of one.
If you want to work on your knitting speed, this is the perfect pattern to do that with -- in a Wax On, Wax Off kind of way.
Materials
Worsted weight (or doubled sport weight), acrylic or cotton
size 10 knitting needles
Instructions
Cast on over a multiple of 2 sts + 1 + 2 edge sts.
Row 1 (right side): K1 (edge st), *K1, P1*, repeat from * to * ending with K1 and K1 (edge st).
Row 2: Exactly in the same manner as Row 1.
Repeat Row 1 and Row 2 until desired size. Fasten off.
For best results in finishing, leave ends long and weave the ends through the work using a tapestry needle.
